What is a Ministry Professional?
A Christian Ministry Professional is someone who makes it their primary, ongoing vocation to serve God and others by teaching, leading, and caring in ways that explicitly advance the Christian faith and the life of the Church.
Christian ministry itself is the work of serving others and spreading the message of Jesus Christ, living out faith through love, compassion, and service. In this context, a professional is someone whose ministry is a recognized calling that involves specialized training, clear standards, and a consistent role rather than occasional or informal volunteering.
It is usually vocational: the person’s primary occupation is in or for the Church or a Christian organization (for example, pastor, chaplain, missionary, Christian educator, or ministry leader). It normally assumes some form of theological or ministry education, accountability to a church or organization, and an understood code of conduct and ethics.
Their work is explicitly directed toward “advancing the Redeemer’s kingdom” and serving the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of people in line with Scripture and the Great Commission. They carry ongoing responsibility for things like preaching or teaching, worship leadership, pastoral care, discipleship, administration of ministry programs, or missional outreach as a structured role, not just ad hoc service.
Who are our Ministry Professionals?
Currently 18% of the membership at Celebrating Life Ministries are Ministry Professionals. We have full and part time Pastors, Youth Pastors, Associate and Executive Pastors, Christian camp directors, YFC directors, Chaplains, Missionaries, Hospice care providers, retired Clergy and Missionaries.
Are you a Ministry Professional?
If you fall into one of the above roles then you are most likely a Ministry Professional by our definition. If you are uncertain, please email Wayne Prevett at wayne@celebratinglife.ca and arrange a phone call to discuss your current ministry role. Please be detailed in your email. If you do not practice the Christian faith in your ministry, this opportunity is not for you as we are a Christian organization that follows the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ.

Understanding the relationship between you and Celebrating Life Ministries:
Celebrating Life Ministries is a government-recognized religious body. We have the same legal and authoritative status as any other government-recognized group (denomination). The major difference is how we handle ordination and education requirements. We do not have any education requirements for ordination. Ordination with us is based on our members being in right standing and agreeing with our beliefs and values.
Our desire in working with Ministry Professionals is to equip and empower them to be able to have legal authorization with the marriage office so they can serve their members by officiating their wedding ceremonies.
Celebrating Life Ministries will not interfere with your church or ministry in any way. We will not oversee or concern ourselves with your church government, worship or ministry styles. We do not require active members fees from you like other denominations.
Please Note: If you have never officiated a legal wedding in the province of Ontario, you will be required to attend a single day of training. The training will be hosted on a Saturday and will cover the responsibilities you will have as a legal representative of the Province of Ontario and your responsibilities to Celebrating Life Ministries.
